Active Setup Keys removed as part of Windows 10 upgrade

Active Setup keys configure software for each user that logs on by comparing the installed components list in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSetups to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSetups

Following an upgrade using Setup.exe, you will find all non-Microsoft keys have been stripped from the HKLM and HKCU locations.

The net effect of this will be any software that uses active setup to populate user profile locations will no longer work for any new user post upgrade.

Following a call with Microsoft, they have stated that the use of ActiveSetups is not documented or supported 🙁
